 Dr. Al-Khateeb is a Professor in the College of Agricultural and Food Sciences at King Faisal University, Hofuf, KSA where he had been a faculty member since 1998.  Dr. Al-Khateeb has served as Dean of Graduate Studies, Secretary of the Scientific Council, and the head of the department of Crops and  Rangeland at King Faisal University. 

 Currently,  he  is  serving  as  Director  General  Plant  Resources, MEWA KSA and as Advisor to the Deputy Minister of MEWA.  For the past few  years, he has been  involved in  the Meeting  of  G20 Agricultural Chief Scientists. He served as the Chair of the G20 -MACS2020, Khobar, KSA during 2020.   His research interests lie in the area of environmental physiology especially dealing with abiotic stresses. He has collaborated actively with researchers in several other disciplines such as tissue culture, and molecular biology.
