My research aims to elucidate the molecular genetic mechanisms that enable plants to thrive in sub-optimal conditions (e.g. heat, drough & salinity) and translate those outputs in both the field and greenhouse food production systems.
I co-founded and am Chief Scientific Officer of Red Sea Farms, which was established to combine impact with innovation through saltwater and sunlight-based agriculture products and systems that reduce the water and energy footprint of food production systems, are economically sustainable and help support the nutritional needs of water-scarce populations.
